Whatever watersports you take part in it’s always important to keep your head protected. These helmets are made with a hard shell and high-quality EVA foam inside, that is specifically designed to cope with the fast-paced, high-impact nature of many water sports.
Helmets for wakeboarding aren’t designed any differently to kitesurfing helmets or water ski helmets. They all overlap and serve the same purpose.
Many want to know if you can use a regular bike or skate helmet for water sports. Although they may look similar, they are generally not strong enough to withstand the forces involved with sports like wakeboarding. Some water sports helmets also come with ear covers to provide extra impact protection.
Watersports helmets, whether it is for kitesurfing, water skiing or wakeboarding have to go through a rigorous testing process to ensure that they are up to standard. All the helmets stocked here have the EN 1385 certification, meaning that they are approved for water sports usage.
How Do I Choose a Wakeboard Helmet?
Wakeboard helmets are probably the most commonly available water sports helmet. As wakeboarding is one of the highest intensity watersports, these helmets are strong enough to protect your head from whatever watersport you are taking part in.
To get the most protection, it’s key that your helmet fits. It should be snug but at the same time not too tight. Many helmets have an adjustable head strap so you can alter the fit as you like. If you want to know more, then have a look at our guide on How to Wear a Helmet.
Along with a helmet, if you’re into wakeboarding then another piece of protective gear you should consider is an Impact Vest.
